Welcome to Melbourne Indie Voices! We’re thrilled to have you in our choir. This page has everything you’ll need to prepare for the term ahead. If you have any lingering questions, please GET IN TOUCH.
Rehearsal details
Time
We start the livestream and open our doors at 7:15 pm.
We sing from 7:30 – 9 pm with a short break in the middle.
Day
We rehearse on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings both in-person and online. When joining us in person, you must stick to the evening you originally purchased.
Term 1 dates
Term 1 runs for nine weeks, from the week beginning 1 February until the week beginning 29 March.
Location
In person: SCHOOLHOUSE STUDIOS (81 Rupert St, Collingwood).
Online: Join the PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP. All rehearsals will be live-streamed right here in the group and will stay up all term, so if you can't join us live, you can watch rewatch at any time. All rehearsals are also uploaded to our MIV TV CHANNEL here :)
Staggered attendance
We're going to start the term off with staggered attendance.
What this means: We're inviting half of you to attend in person, and the other half to stream online. The next week, we'll swap!

Online rehearsal
If you’re joining rehearsal from the comfort of your couch (or bed, bath, cubby house) - please READ THIS POST and join our private Facebook group.
Covid safe rehearsals
It goes without saying, but the safety and wellbeing of our community is our #1 concern. People attending choir in person must:
Wear a mask at all times
Sign in using the QR code posted around the venue
Stand at least an arms length away from each other (when singing).
BYO sheet music (available in the members area to print or view on phone/tablet)
We also encourage you to:
Bring your own drink bottle
Stay home if you’re not feeling well
Avoid touching surfaces, other people, and other people’s belongings.
IMPORTANT:
Do not come to choir if you have symptoms of or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you are a close contact of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you have any reason to believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19 and may be a transmission risk.

Just so you know, Phia pours her little heart and soul into compositions for choir - it’s not a decision taken lightly, nor is it the sort of thing that can be thrown together willy-nilly. With that in mind, all final song decisions rest with Phia and Josh. However, they do search far and wide for their next hit of inspiration!
