The ultimate lockdown choir video

You won’t have seen a choir lockdown vid quite like this!

Recorded on our phones during the 2020 lockdown and mixed shortly after, we’re proud to release the single & film clip ‘Unstoppable’.

Our community refused to surrender our weekly connection during lockdown, so we moved rehearsals online for almost all of 2020 (a classic pivot).

Our 290 piece choir swelled, attracting new members from all over the world searching for a way to connect in a time of social distance and shutdown.

Our Artistic Director, Phia, had this to say:

“We wanted to create a space to foster connection for our community and were amazed and heartened to learn that being a choir is more than just meeting in a space and singing, it’s people coming together to share their love of music and connect when times are easy and hard. We wanted to document and celebrate the irrepressible strength of our community and decided the song “Unstoppable” by Lianne La Havas captured the feeling perfectly!”

Created by acclaimed filmmaker Sarah Jane Woulahan and and mixed by producer/engineer Nick Huggins, the song was arranged by Phia with guitar and effects by Joshua Teicher.

Our members recorded their parts on their phones and recorded themselves singing in front of bedsheets and garage doors in their homes and around the burbs of Melbourne.

These clips were collated into an incredible mosaic piece by Sarah Jane Woulahan, with additional footage filmed in studio as restrictions eased.

“Unstoppable” is a celebration of all the communities that found new strength during the difficult times of 2020.
